MAX LAUNCHES SPAIN’S FIRST ADAPTATION OF 'AVENTURA EN PELOTAS'
Ten adventurers, paired up, will face 21 days completely isolated in the depths of the Colombian jungle—surviving the most extreme conditions, living with strangers and entirely naked
Ten individuals (six men and four women) have signed up for the ultimate challenge: enduring three weeks in the Colombian jungle with no water, no food, no clothes—and only one tool plus a personal item. AVENTURA EN PELOTAS: SPAIN premieres on Max this Sunday, 12 January, as the first Spanish adaptation of the renowned international extreme-survival format originally from Discovery.
Produced by Warner?Bros. ITVP Spain for Max, this version follows the award-winning format that has aired in over 40 countries with ten seasons and multiple spin-offs. The first two episodes of the seven-part season (each 50 minutes) will be available on Max from Sunday 12 January, with new episodes released weekly from Sunday 19 January onwards.
A raw survival challenge
In AVENTURA EN PELOTAS: SPAIN, participants must strip back to basics and live as close as possible to our planet’s earliest inhabitants. Over 21 days, their survival depends on ingenuity, resilience, creativity and sheer physical and mental strength.
Max introduces the first ten Spaniards ever to take on this survival experience—divided into five pairs (four mixed-gender, one male pair), each forced to adapt and endure naked, alongside a complete stranger.
While most contestants have some practical wilderness and survival expertise, all share the same aim: to last until the end. The cast includes two mystical spirits whose harmony is tested by hunger and fatigue; a nomadic duo facing the darker sides of each other; a pair whose expertise imbalance sparks tension; a male duo navigating different survival strategies; and a mismatched pair forced to collide in their approaches to nature.
At the outset, viewers will see each pair’s Primitive Survival Index—a scoring based on their survival skills and mindset. Their capacity for cooperation, conflict resolution, or unity will play out against threats: harsh weather, predatory wildlife, dehydration, hunger, insect swarms, disease, and emotional and physical breakdowns.
The Colombian jungle: a hostile battleground
Set in the Colombian jungle, this series ensures a brutal challenge. Each pair is dropped in a unique terrain—swampy and insect-ridden marshes; deep, canopy-covered forest; open plains beside rivers; or barren, rocky hills. Each environment grows increasingly hostile, demanding successful hunting, fishing, foraging, and water-finding skills—and the physical stamina, creativity, and mental endurance they require.
This epic adventure explores humanity’s capacity to confront elemental threats. Suffering, exhaustion, hunger, and pain are just the beginning—companionship, loyalty, betrayal, fear, pride, and resilience come next. Ten start the journey—but who will make it to day 21?
Over a decade of extreme survival

With ten seasons behind it, contestants have braved extreme environments in Tanzania, Mozambique, Botswana, Cambodia, the Philippines, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Australia and beyond.
