LASEXTA TO PREMIERE ‘SECRET SERVICE BY CHICOTE’ ON THURSDAY 23 APRIL AT 11:OO PM

The popular chef will showcase a never-before-seen side of himself, going undercover to uncover what’s really happening inside struggling restaurants, unaware they are being observed, in an attempt to help turn their fortunes around

laSexta has a new mission for Alberto Chicote, and this time it’s secret… and unlike anything he’s done before. The channel will premiere Secret Service by Chicote on Thursday 23 April at 11:00 pm, an adaptation of the FOX hit Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service. This new primetime format sees the renowned chef go undercover as a spy to expose the hidden realities of restaurants on the verge of collapse, with the aim of offering a second, and in many cases final, chance to businesses in urgent need of transformation.

Secret Service by Chicote, produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and also available on atresplayer, is the Spanish adaptation of Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service, a format by Studio Ramsay Global distributed by FOX Entertainment Global.

Alberto Chicote’s new mission… impossible?

Saving a hospitality business on the brink of bankruptcy is often a near-impossible mission — even more so when the problems are not immediately visible, but hidden behind kitchens where dirt accumulates and food deteriorates; dining rooms that appear normal but conceal serious shortcomings; teams plagued by tension and lack of coordination; or leadership that, rather than driving the business forward, pushes it closer to failure. However, there is one chef ready to take on the challenge, and it could only be Alberto Chicote.

The new programme Secret Service by Chicote, hosted by Alberto Chicote, will premiere soon in laSexta’s primetime schedule, bringing to Spain this high-risk restaurant infiltration format following the success of FOX’s Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service. The show will see Chicote face the most demanding challenge of his television career, revealing a completely new side of him: that of an undercover agent determined to uncover what really happens when no one is watching.

For the first time, Alberto Chicote will infiltrate restaurants without prior notice, under the cover of night and complete anonymity, with the aim of exposing the reality behind failing businesses. Like a high-level covert operation, the chef will not enter with his usual recognisable presence, but will operate from the shadows, supported by advanced technology and a surveillance team that allows him to analyse every detail before stepping in.

Each mission begins with the help of an internal informant, a member of staff whose identity remains strictly confidential and who plays a key role in the investigation. Thanks to this insider, Chicote gains access to the restaurant and its real operations, while the rest of the team remains unaware of the chef’s watchful eye.

A race against time

To complete his mission, Alberto Chicote will travel across the country to intervene in a wide range of businesses: from neighbourhood bars and family-run restaurants to once-thriving venues that have lost their way and are now facing their most critical moment.

Each case presents a unique challenge, but they all share one common factor: urgency. In Secret Service by Chicote, every intervention is a race against time to prevent permanent closure.
