RTVE PREPARES ‘EL ESCONDITE’, A SPECTACULAR INTERNATIONAL FORMAT BASED ON THE POPULAR GAME

A huge set features a house with over 120 hiding places, where the audience will follow the contestants’ every move in real time

The classic game of our childhood is transformed into a large-scale family entertainment show in ‘El escondite’ (House of hide and seek), RTVE’s new entertainment venture. A group of contestants will once again feel the thrill of childhood as they experience the danger of being discovered or not on a large-scale set where a huge house will be built.

‘El escondite’ is the first international adaptation of ‘The House of Hide and Seek’, a programme created by Talpa Studios and David Grifhorst, and developed in close collaboration with FOX Entertainment Studios. The Spanish version is produced by RTVE in collaboration with Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and Talpa Studios. Filming will take place shortly in the Netherlands.

A large-scale game of hide and seek

In ‘El escondite’, contestants face a series of rounds and a final packed with tension and fun, set within a gigantic two-storey house featuring over 120 hiding places: a life-size set designed to transform the classic game into a television spectacle of enormous proportions. From the grand staircase to the kitchen, the bedrooms, the living room and other additional areas, every corner is designed to immerse the contestants in the game and keep them in constant suspense and on the move. Secret passageways, unexpected doors and ingeniously hidden spaces that instantly spark excitement.

A combination of suspense, humour and strategy, where a multi-generational audience will enjoy following every move the contestants make in real time.
